Therapy For Motion Picture and Entertainment industry professionals
The demands of working in the motion picture industry are unique. I have worked with art dept., executives, production, management, actors, writers, editors, show runners, line producers, production managers, make-up, costumers, composers, etc. From PA and PC to DP and EIC. A career in TV/film places significant demands on you and on the people in your life: 60-78 hour weeks, 4:25 a.m. call times, deadlines, being on location, missing your family, and not having a social life. The tough choices and hard decisions, and the constantly lurking element of ”not knowing” what, when, or where, or even with whom your next job will be, moving from one project, feature, or show to the next multiple times in a year. This all takes a toll on your relationships and mental health.
A career in the industry can be frustrating, physically exhausting, and mentally draining. It can also be a rewarding, creative career pursuing your passion. Contrary to what many people think, a MPI career is often not glamorous--it can be a grueling life which takes a lot out of you. I can help you find healthy ways to manage the stress, anxiety, and relationship issues which can accompany the industry lifestyle, learn how to engage in healthy self-care (yes, even with your busy schedule), and make the most of what free time you do have so you can lead a happy, healthy life.
Many MPI professionals prefer Telehealth for the incredible convenience it affords. If you are ready to make the commitment to yourself to make changes, give me a call or send me an email to schedule a free phone consultation. I am honored and excited to be in your corner.
